About Veglog
We are a team of commited Vegetarians that are creating a valuable resource for Vegetarians and those looking to become Vegetarian.
The Team
Veglog was originally founded by Susan and Noel Hurtley in August of 2007. Susan came up with the idea and Noel (in partnership with his company Neoterical) made it a reality.
Dorothy joined the team a few months later making Veglog a family affair.
Noel Hurtley

Noel is a 20-something creative entrepreneur based in Vancouver, Canada. He become a Vegetarian when he was only eight years old. He has been a quiet evangelist for the Vegetarian lifestyle for most of his life, often praising it’s health benefits and informing people of the unnecessary cruelty that is inflicted upon animals in the meat industry.
When he is not writing for Veglog, he is taking photography and developing websites for Neoterical, a creative agency that he founded in early 2007.
Noel writes a popular blog on his personal website.
Susan Hurtley
Susan is a photographer based in Vancouver, Canada. She has been a Vegetarian for most of her life, having a keen interest in cooking, nutrition and animal rights.
She’s currently taking a break from her authorial duties here at Veglog because of time restrictions, but she’ll be back this summer with a load of things to say and a new round of delicious European-inspired recipes.
Dorothy Hurtley
Dororthy is a senior who lives in America and Canada. She has two dogs, one cat and an unhealthy obsession with American politics.
Colophon
Noel built Veglog from the ground up using Adobe Photoshop and standards-compliant XHTML/CSS.
Veglog is published with Textpattern. We believe Textpattern was the best choice for Veglog because of it’s ease of use and robust feature-set.
Veglog is hosted by WebFaction. If you’re technically inclined and looking for an affordable shared hosting solution, we’d recommend you try out WebFaction.
